The Bertha Joyce II was built as the "Annetta Lovetta" at Hillview, Trinity Bay, Newfoundland by George Bennett of Port Aux Bras in 1935, 60 gross tons, official number 159657. This vessel was purchased by Captain Ray Berkshire of Spencer's Cove in the early 60s and he changed the name to the Bertha Joyce. The Bertha Joyce was used as a freight and collector boat in Placentia Bay and continued that role when sold to Harry Wareham of St. John’s in 1972. Later it was purchased by Tom Brewer of Southern Harbour (formerly of Davis Cove) and he changed the name to the Placentia Bay Queen and used it mostly as a tour boat. It was scrapped at Fermeuse in the early 2000s.
