Margaret Wilson was born June 1876 in Merasheen. She married Sylvanus Best, son of John Best and Hannah Stacy who was born September 1870 in Merasheen, at the Basilica in St. John's on Nov. 18, 1895 (as was the practice for mixed marriages at the time).The 11 children of Margaret and Sylvanus are Estella, born Sept 12, 1896, Merasheen; died March 13, 1996, Lions Manor in Placentia; Marmaduke, born Nov 02, 1898; Edgar Neil, born June 20, 1900; Thomas Clement, born June 15, 1902; Hannah Mary, born April 12, 1904; Amelius Gerard, born April 13 1905, died April 15 1956; Loretta, born June 1908; Hannah; Edgar; Ronald John, born June 1918 and Ronald Nicholas. Marmaduke, Edgar Neil, Hannah Mary and Ronald John died as young children or in infancy. Loretta died in her late teens.
