The house in the foreground belonged to Amelius and Ettie (Ennis) Best and was floated over across the harbour from it's place on Stella's Lane in Little Merasheen in about 1930.  It was originally owned by Amelius' sister Stella (Best) Ennis whose first marriage was to Joe Ennis who died at age 37 on Christmas Eve, 1929 leaving Stella with 5 children from infant to 11 years.  Later Stella moved away and married Ned Traverse and then Bernard Traverse and lived to be 100. Stella's Lane is where Clem had a cabin (behind Johnny Ennis house). The house to the right: Clem Best; the house behind: Mac Best; the house to the far right: Cleverly Best.
