Bride (Connors) Fulford, or Mrs. Bride as most people knew her, was known for her hearty laugh and her midwife skills.  Mrs. Bride had 8 children, John, Lucy, Olivia, Phonce, Bernard, Hannah, also Dennis and Loretta who died very young. Her husband John Fulford  and another Jack Fulford were drowned in the narrows when Mrs. Bride was pregnant with John.

Catherine Hyde was born in St. Anne's, first husband Jack Hann from Petite Forte, second husband Denis Walsh Sr. from Big Bona before moving to Merasheen.

Elsie Holwell, daughter of Joey and Lucy Pitcher, born on 4 May 1907 in Merasheen, died on 4 Jan 1993 at St. John’s, aged 85, and is buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Married Ern Holwell, children Jean, Lucy, Geoff, Lloyd, Arthur, Ernest, Llewelyn, Ethel and Virginia.
