BRIDE ROSE:

Bride has hundreds of songs and is quite willing to sing one for you at any time. An awfully good sport, when we went over to her house to pick up some songs at 9 in the morning, she not only obliged with copies of about 20 songs, but sang 5 or 6 of which we needed the air. In the meantime Harold kept the home brew coming.

“Place the light in the window, my darling", she said
As she gazed at the dark, cloudy night overhead
The little girl ran with her eager delight
She placed in the window the tiny red light.

“Oh father, dear father don't take it away
Think of the poor sailors tar out on the bay.
For if you‘d only seen what had happened last night
You would leave in the window the tiny red light."

Father came home from his work withered cold.
Angry and cross his fish was not sold 
He said that the oil it was to last for tonight
When he took from the window the tiny red light

Early next morning came a knock on the door
A sailor stood pointing tar out on the shore
Three tiny ships went adrift in the gale
With tears in his eyes he told the father his tale

“We followed your tiny red light" said the man
“When it vanished from sight on the rocks our ship ran
Many were drowned on the billows last night
That might have been saved by your tiny red light."
